Thank you for visiting our site.  We are Pete, Laura and Petey Palazzolo, owners of The Maple Grove Guesthouse.

Pete and I met and fell in love at first sight in the spring of 1997 and had our first date, a picnic in an old, apple orchard. After a whirlwind romance, we began searching  for a place with "possibilities" it took us a year or more, but we found it.

Pete and I bought our 170 year old farm in 1998 and it has been a labor of love ever since.  The place needed more than it's fair share of elbow grease and that began the day we took possession.  After 10 months of cleaning, painting, fixing and extensive gardening it was ready for an al fresco, orchard wedding - ours! We were married September 18th, 1999 under our very own apple trees and beautiful blue sky.  And we've never looked back.

One year later on September 1st, Peter David Palazzolo was born.  He is the love of our life.

The following summer, after a year more of scrubbing, fixing and painting our guesthouse was ready for occupancy.  We love seeing our guests enjoying life and this beautiful area - we think it is a slice of paradise and we're not the only ones.

Pete owns his own company in Douglas since 1986 called Palazzolo's Gelato and Sorbetto.  He produces and sells gelato and sorbetto to chefs, restaurants, caterers, coffee houses and individuals. His products are delicious and one-of-a-kind.  You will find an assortment of gelato and sorbetto in the freezer in The Maple Grove Guesthouse for your enjoyment. Some people may come for that reason alone - yes, it's that good.

I run the Guesthouse, do the graphics and web site for Palazzolo's and Maple Grove and consider myself a full-time mom. . I love antiquing, gardening, art and design, bird watching and walks in the orchard with my family and a good bottle of red wine.  You may check in to find fresh fruit, herbs and veggies from the garden or orchard or you can go and pick cherries or peaches yourself, it's great fun.  The landscaping around the guesthouse includes a lot of "edibles" also- raspberries, blueberries, elderberries, blackberries and bush cherries.

And Petey, well what can I say - he's beautiful, smart and full of life.  He will be 7 September 1, 2007

We have had a wonderful experience opening up our Guesthouse to people who just want to enjoy the area, get in touch with nature, relax and spend time with family and friends. There is a sense of nostalgia and homeyness here that will envelop you the second you pull in the long, pine-lined drive.

Come home to The Maple Grove Guesthouse. Pete, Laura and Petey Palazzolo - and Sean, Fern, Chachi, Snead, Duff and Sparky - our favorite felines
